Battenkill Bike Race

Cambridge, NY – Organizers of the 2009 Tour of the Battenkill,
Presented by Global Foundries are proud to announce that 2006 Tour of
California and Tour de Georgia Champion Floyd Landis will be among the
professionals competing in the Tour of the Battenkill Professional Invitational
on April 19 in Cambridge, NY. After a restless two years away from cycling and
hip-resurfacing surgery, Landis returned to professional cycling in January to
compete with Team OUCH of Oakland, California. Team OUCH joins 21 other
Professional and Elite teams for the race dubbed ‘America’s Queen of the Classics’
“OUCH Presented by Maxxis is excited to be a part of the Tour of
Battenkill,” said team directeur sportif Mike Tamayo. “This is a new
race for us, and the hard nature of the course and the racing suits
our team well. We’re looking forward to making an impact on the race.”
The Tour of the Battenkill features a challenging 124 mile course with
16 dirt road sections in Upstate New York’s Washington County. More
than 2,000 racers are expected for the April 18-19 weekend event,
making it the largest road cycling race in the USA.
